A St James Cross is said to promote strength and hope; and of course, it is one of the great travel symbols of the world . . originating from The Way of St James route (and for some, pilgrimage) across Spain.

St James was an original disciple (and possibly a cousin) of Jesus. So this cross has Christian overtones. James is believed to be buried in Santiago de Compostela and, since the Middle Ages, countless pilgrims have visited his tomb - hence the making of The Way of Saint James (El Camino).
