A recognised gift of faith to say " keep safe "

This stainless-steel Cross of St James (Cruz de Santiago) has roots in the 1,000-year-old Way of St. James (El Camino de Santiago), which criss-crosses Western Europe to arrive in Santiago de Compostela in Northern Spain. Some 200,000 people travel the Camino each year from all over the world: Some people walk, others travel by bike. Many travellers choose to do the Camino for personal, rather than any spiritual or religious reasons - taking time out from their busy modern lives and perhaps finding inspiration along the way, whilst reflecting on their life in a supportive environment. Many carry with them a St James Cross like this - for safekeeping along the way.

Popular Camino routes and safe ways to travel

But whatever somebody’s journey - whether actual or symbolic, many friends and loved-ones like to pass on a special gift to wish a friend well - and to be safe. In addition to any value that the St. James cross has in itself, or the religious faith that it might represent, this necklace could also act as a reminder to be careful. And this can be a powerful aid to staying safe.

Dimensions: Cross measures 38mm in length including the hanging bail by 18mm in width. It hangs on a ball chain which measures approx 50cm / 19.75ins in length - but the necklace length can be easily shortened by clipping the end of the chain where it goes into the open-clasp fitting (see image)
