A delicate and finely-crafted testimonial to 'El Camino"
This delightful 18ct gold scallop shell / concha de vieira is hand-crafted by goldsmiths in Galicia, northern Spain, close to the ancient Way of St James. It is symbolic of the Camino de Santiago, and would make a very special memento for someone with an affinity for this famous path / journey.
Each year some 200,000 people travel the Camino: Some walk, others travel by bike. Many travellers do the Camino for personal, rather than any spiritual or religious reasons - taking time out from their busy, modern lives and perhaps finding inspiration on the journey, whilst reflecting on their life in a supporting environment. Many carry with them a Scallop Shell symbol like this. Everyone experiences the journey in a different way, and everyone carries different memories.
